Have You Been Waiting A Long Time?

There was a boy who was born in a tent along side of a river. And, like that river that boy had been running ever since.  When the people heard the sound of the boy running they thought a train was coming. Everyone was waiting for the train.

The boy grew up running and the people said, “Why do you run so hard. We are so tired of the life that we live. It seems like the sky is falling.” 

The boy, now a man, said to the people, “Life has been too hard living. But no one wants to die. It is not time to go beyond the sky.”

The people said, “We been waiting for a very long time. When are things going to change?”

The boy now a man said, “We have got to keep it together. We must learn to trust and forgive each other. Now go on with your lives. And, live your days.”

But, the people continued, “When we go to the leaders and ask for help. They tell us to move along.”

The boy now a man said, “I have something, do you have something. I have something for you. Just as I was born next to a river which never moves straight. We have got to keep rolling on.”

The people understand what the boy now a man was saying to them. He was telling them to stand up on their own feet and show some faith. He was telling them to help one another. He was telling them that they were the river and the train.
