Peace, Compassion, and Non-violence
“Peace, compassion, and non-violence. Meditate for complete
peace,” he guided. “You must confront reality by seeking the answers
to painful existence by remembering the impermanence of
everything.”
I could feel a heightened mental clarity and calm. We all centered
our minds on the vibration of complete peace. We sat in a
trance-like state that was on the road to awareness.
“How can we be nonviolent in this world?”
“Mindful awareness. Calmly think things out,” he instructed.
“But mustn’t a man fight at times?” I asked.
“You cannot become monks. You cannot isolate yourself from
the world. You must reenter the world and be a part of it. The day
of prophets is over. The day of philosophers is over. Now is the
time of warriors.”
